GAZA, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian young man was martyred and hundreds others were wounded during their participation on Friday in a march calling for breaking the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, said Palestinian Health Ministry.
The man was shot dead by the Israeli occupation army, east of Gaza, while 312 others were injured, the ministry's spokesman Ashraf Al-Qedra said in a press statement.
Clashes erupted in separate areas along the border fence, east of the Strip.
Among the wounded are 20 children and two women, he said, noting that 100 cases were taken to hospitals. Some 33 people were injured by live ammunition, he said.
Palestinians flocked to the Strip on Friday calling for lifting the blockade, while the Israeli army fired live ammunition and tear gas at them.
The number of Palestinians martyred since the start of Great March of Return protests on March rose to 184. (end) wab.hm
