PARIS, Sept 12 (KUNA) -- French President Emanuel Macaron Expressed on Wednesday his regrets over the United States decision to stop funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA).
President Macaron stressed in a phone call with Commissioner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Philippo Grandi the French Commitments to help UNRWA to overcome its current crisis, said a statement by Presidential Palace.
UNRWA's services are too important to achieve local and international stability, Pres. Macaron added.
Assuring that his country is committed to contribute in any international response to help UNRWA to tackle the crisis and improve its work.
He called to enhance cooperation between Europe Union and transit countries to prevent the repeated tragedies facing migrant crossing the sea.
Regarding the Syrian issue, the French President expressed his deep concerns over massive displacement resulting from military operations on Idlib. (end) mjz.nhq
