WASHINGTON, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- A 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck the northern coast of Venezuela late Tuesday. The earthquake was felt across much of the country including in capital city of Caracas. It struck off the coast about 24 miles east of the city of Carupano, according to the United States Geological Survey.
Venezuela's Interior Minister Nestor Luis Reverol tweeted: "We call on all of the people of Venezuela to remain calm." Authorities were ready to deal with "any emergency," he added.
