REYADH, July 16 (KUNA) -- King Abdullah City of Atomic and Renewable Energy received yesterday a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on a tour, which will last until July 24, to carry out an integrated review of Saudi Arabia's atomic energy infrastructure. The delegation will assess Saudi Arabia's efforts to develop infrastructure for the development of peaceful nuclear program that will be in harmony with IAEA requirements, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. The integrated review of the atomic energy infrastructure is a service provided by the IAEA to the Member States to conduct an integrated and comprehensive assessment in the presence of international experts with experience in nuclear energy programs and infrastructure development, the agency added. At the end of the review, IAEA will make some recommendations and suggestions regarding the improvement and development of the atomic energy infrastructure in the Kingdom.
King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy will develop a work plan in cooperation with the business partners and with the participation of the relevant government agencies to implement the recommendations of IAEA and work on improving the infrastructure. (end) mdm.aa
