BAGHDAD, June 17 (KUNA) -- Two people were killed, seven were kidnapped in armed attack in Dayala province north of Baghdad, Iraqi police said on Sunday.
A police source told KUNA, the unknown armed men, who could be from elements from the so-called Islamic State (IS), attacked a connecting road between the capital Baghdad and Kirkuk province, more precisely Dayala province.
The source added the attack resulted in killing two truck drivers, and the kidnapping of seven travels from several vehicles.
The main Baghdad-Kirkuk road has been witnessing various security incidents recently, the attackers are believed from the so-called IS and are taking shelter in the mountains nearby. (end) ahh.mb
