ALGEIRS, May 31 (KUNA) -- The Algerian army eliminated on Thursday a "terrorist" in addition to the discovery of a cache of weapons south of the country on the border with Mali.
In a statement, the Algerian army said the "terrorist" was killed during an army cleansing operation in state Al-Madea Mountains, about 80 kilometers south of Algiers, adding that they set up an ambush, which resulted in eliminating the "terrorist" and the confiscation of assault weapon Kalashnikov.
In a related development, the statement noted that within the framework of border protection, the Algerian army discovered during a search operation in Baji Mukhtar area on the border with Mali, a cache of weapons and ammunition.
The statement pointed out that the cache contained many weapons and ammunition, including two rocket launchers and a heavy machine gun and two hand grenades. (end) mr.mb
