GAZA, May 30 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian young man succumbed to his injuries sustained by Israeli gunfire during anti-occupation protests in the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry on Wednesday.
"Naji Ghunaim, 23, was shot and critically injured during protests near a security fence in Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip", the ministry said in a statement.
The death toll of Palestinian protesters rose to 118 since the rallies known as the "Great March of Return" started on March 30 along the Gaza-Israeli border.
Meanwhile, an Israeli navy unit Saturday detained two Palestinian fishermen in the sea of Gaza and took them to an unknown location.
Moreover, Israeli naval forces have released 17 Palestinians attempted to break an Israeli-imposed siege for the first time in more than a decade. (end) wab.haq
