KUWAIT, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri inaugurated on Sunday the new generation of digital DAB+ audio broadcasting stations in Al-Metlaa north of Kuwait City.
The minister, in a statement to KUNA and Kuwait Television, indicated that launch of the digital broadcasting service was part of a plan that began two years ago.
The Ministry of Information acts with inspiration from Kuwait Vision 2035 development strategy, he added.
Fahem Al-Shemmari, a broadcasting engineer at the ministry, affirmed that listeners would enjoy very clear sound.
The digital broadcasting is less costly as compared to the analogue audio service. A listener can tune in the station by searching for its name, instead of frequency. (end) sss.rk
