RIYADH, Feb 14 (KUNA) -- Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and his Russian counterpart Alexander Novak signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the energy field.
The deal covers the areas of investment, the development of technologies, technical assistance, and sharing and analyzing of information relating to global energy market, SPA reported.
Under the deal, the two countries will work together for holding international conferences, workshops and training courses.
They will also explore the possibility of upgrading the power grids and tap into the potential of clean energies, according to the report.
The deal was signed on the sidelines of the eighth symposium of the International Energy Agency (IEA), the World Energy Forum and OPEC meeting.
Earlier today, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received Novak at Al-Yamamah Palace where they discussed the bilateral relations and ways of enhancing cooperation in the field of energy. (end) od.gb
