KUWAIT, Feb 13 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh said on Tuesday that the State of Kuwait "lodged a protestation against an Iraqi parliament member's statements against Kuwait".
Al-Saleh was speaking during a regular session of the National Assembly held today in response to what was raised by a number of deputies on the Iraqi parliamentary member against Kuwait.
"I would like to confirm that the Iraqi ambassador to Kuwait was informed of the protest of Kuwait and its objection to what was uttered by an Iraqi parliament of unacceptable words about Kuwait as soon as the parliamentary media statement was circulated," Al-Saleh added.
"I would also like to emphasize that we have received in more than one occasion that the Iraqi parliament member's statement does not reflect the official Iraqi attitude toward Kuwait, but expressed her own opinion," he added.
He stressed that the Kuwaiti-Iraqi relations are good, pointing out that the best evidence of this is the presence of a large Iraqi delegation in Kuwait to participate in the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq and thus this confirms the official position of Iraq.
