GAZA, Jan 13 (KUNA) -- Israeli fighter jets bombarded an area south of Gaza Strip on Saturday, shortly after the occupation authorities announced closure of Karam Abu Salem crossing, citing security concerns.
Eyewitnesses told KUNA fighter jets bombed a farm land next to Karam Abu Salem crossing. No casualties were reported.
Israeli army spokesman said in a statement the warplanes bombed infrastructure facilities of what he called "terrorist" groups near the borders between Gaza and Egypt.
He said Hamas was to blame for the attack.
Karam Abu Salem is the only crossing through which aid, humanitarian assistance, fuel and medicine are delivered for more than two million Palestinians in Gaza. (end) wab.bs
