WASHINGTON, Jan 13 (KUNA) -- The brother of a man killed fighting for the so-called Islamic State (IS) was sentenced to 10 years for terrorism related charges and firearms possession, the Department of Justice (DoJ) announced late Friday.
Marchello Dsaun McCain traveled to Syria to fight for IS, when five months later his brother, Douglas, was killed in Syria fighting against the Free Syrian Army, a DoJ statement said.
In September 2016 Marchello pleaded guilty to making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation concerning his "assistance to and knowledge of individuals providing material support (personnel and money) to individuals engaged in violent terrorist activities abroad and IS," including his brother, it noted.
