KHARTOUM, Dec 31 (KUNA) -- A Sudanese police force on Sunday rescued 95 people held hostage by human traffickers in the African nation's eastern region.
Authorities saved 95 people who were captured by human traffickers in Kassala state's dense forests, the eastern state's police force said.
Meanwhile, police added that no casualties have been reported in the operation to rescue the victims, whose nationalities were not disclosed.
Sudan's President has declared a state of emergency in the state of Kassala amid a spread in illegal arms and the rise of human trafficking syndicates. (end) mmm.nam
