WASHINGTON, Dec 6 (KUNA) -- Hours after recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, President Donald Trump issued a memorandum that will delay the move of the US embassy from Tel Aviv for six months.
"I hereby determine that it is necessary, in order to protect the national security interests of the United States, to suspend for a period of 6 months," he said in a memorandum sent to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
Earlier, Tillerson expressed his support for the move and stressed that the State Department has "robust security plans to protect the safety of Americans" who may be affected. (end) ak.gb
