KUWAIT, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Private schools in a number of areas will close on Tuesday due to the 38th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, hosted by Kuwait, the Ministry of Education said.
The decision, which follows plans to close several public schools, will include privately-owned schools located in the areas of Farwaniya, Khaitan, Salmiyah, Hawalli, Bayan, Surra, South Surra, Jabriya, Mishref, West Mishref, Qurtoba and Yarmouk, read a ministry statement.
The interruption, which lasts only one day, will affect Arabic, English, foreign language and bilingual schools, and aims to reduce traffic congestion.
Earlier, the ministry announced that the closing of some of the schools might be extended to Wednesday. (pickup previous) sas.sd
