KUWAIT, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti cabinet Monday approved a newly passed sports law aiming at revamping Kuwaiti sports and helping in lifting the international on the country's sports activities This came during the cabinet's customary weekly meeting held at Bayan Palace and presided over by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The cabinet appreciated the National Assembly's understanding of the significance of the fresh sports law, and its effective contribution to taking this major step, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Information Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said in a press statement following the meeting.
The ministers hoped that the sports law would lead to developing Kuwaiti sports and lifting the international suspension of Kuwaiti sports activities, he added.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti ministers reviewed the final preparations and arrangements for the 38th GCC summit in Kuwait on Tuesday, showing warm welcome of the participating GCC leaders.
They wished that the summit would come up with the aspired outcomes that could fulfill the expectations and ambitions of the Gulf people, and reflect cooperation in various areas.
Finally, the cabinet mourned the death of Yacoub Yousef Al-Humaidi, remembering his national contributions and sincere efforts to serving the nation. (end) mt
