JEDDAH, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Saturday condemned the launch of a ballistic missile from Yemen towards a southern Saudi city.
The continuous launch of ballistic missiles on the Kingdom reaffirms how the Houthi militants are carrying on with their hostile and criminal approach targeting the Kingdom's security and stability as part of "conspiratorial schemes against the Kingdom, and citizens and residents on its soil," said OICD Secretary General Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen in a press release.
Al-Othaimeen reiterated the organization's support to the Kingdom, leadership, government and people, and solidarity with Riyadh in whatever steps it might take to maintain the country's security and stability.
He commended the Saudi Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces (RSADF) for alertness, intercepting the missile before it could fall on civilian populated areas.
On Thursday, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced RSADF intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile that was heading towards the city of Khamis Mushait. No casualties were reported. (end) nh.msa
