WASHINGTON, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- The death toll has risen to five after a gunman reportedly opened fire on an elementary school in rural Northern California Tuesday, authorities confirmed.
Tehama County police confirmed the number of those killed, including the shooter, in what is being described as a random shooting spree that took place in seven different locations.
The shooter, whose identity has not yet been confirmed by police, had a semi-automatic rifle and two handguns when he was shot and killed by police at the scene.
It was not immediately clear how many people were injured, authorities say. At least two elementary school students were injured in the attack at the Rancho Tehama School. (pickup previous) hy.hb
