KUWAIT, Oct 23 (KUNA) -- Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour has praised His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's efforts to resolve the crisis between Qatar and other GCC states.
He has also affirmed, in a statement to KUNA, Sudan's support for the efforts, aimed at ironing out difference among the brotherly countries, expressing confidence that His Highness "is capable of resolving the crisis." On bilateral ties, he lauded His Highness the Amir's personal care for maintaining the close relations between the two brotherly countries.
Minister Ghandour indicated that the freshly concluded visit to the country by his president was intended to express gratitude to the State of Kuwait for its support and to invite His Highness to visit Sudan.
He voiced gratitude for Kuwait's good care for the estimated 12,000 Sudanese who work in the country.
Ghandour disclosed that the joint ministerial committee, at a scheduled meeting in Khartoum in December, would tackle various issues of common concern.
Kuwait and Sudan adopt identical stances on regional issues, he said, praising Kuwait for playing a humanitarian role across the world without discrimination.
He indicated at President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir's congratulations to His Highness the Amir on the honoring by the UN, designating him as Humanitarian Leader.
Kuwait is on top of countries that have given aid to Sudan, he said.
As to prospected investments for Kuwaiti businesspersons in Sudan, he noted that 60 percent of the Sudanese lands have not been cultivated despite available water resources and laborers. (end) nma.rk
