CAIRO, June 5 (KUNA) -- The Arab League on Monday re-affirmed that the sole path for establishing peace and security in the Middle East is through ending Israeli occupation of Palestinian and Arab territories.
The renewed Arab League stand was expressed in a statement marking 50th anniversary of Israel's occupation of these territories in June 1967.
Israel insists on jeopardizing all peace opportunities and continues to defy will of the international community and stand against bids to launch a serious peace process, based on resolutions of the international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative, the league statement said.
It called on the United Nations to act responsibly and support the legitimate Palestinian cause and put an end to "the State terrorism practiced by Israel." Establishing peace in the Middle East impacts positively on global peace, it said. (end) mfm.rk
