RIYADH, May 8 (KUNA) -- The Royal Saudi Navy vessels operating with the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen have found a number of maritime mines off the coast of Yemen's port of Midi, the coalition command said on Monday.
They were examined and found to have been "locally manufactured," it added in a press statement.
Planting the mines in these spots bears the hallmark of the "coup militias which deliberately deployed them along the Yemeni coast," the statement noted.
These mines threaten the international and commercial maritime traffic, as well as the relief and humanitarian aid vessels coming to Yemen, it added.
In addition, the mines represent a violation of international laws, posing a serious threat to international ships, in addition to blocking strategic navigation ways. (end) mdm.msa
