KUWAIT, April 25 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti medical team left for Somalia on Tuesday in a trip sponsored by Zakat (alms) House to perform surgeries and treat patients.
The trip aims at providing medical and humanitarian aid for the needy in the drought-hit country, said pediatrician Saleh Al-Ajmi, member of the Shifaa (healing) medical team.
He told KUNA that due to scarcity in clean drinking water, epidemics took over a number of Somali villages, and this where the 15-member team comes in handy. (end) nma.hb
