TUNIS, April 21 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait is ahead of other nations at the level of women economic empowerment, says Chairwoman of the Council of Arab Businesswomen Sheikha Hessa Al-Sabah.
The Gulf State has sought to strengthen the female citizens in the economic field through financial support to enterprises of direct impact on this segment of the society, said Sheikha Hessa, in a statement to Kuwait News Agency and Kuwait Television.
Sheikha Hessa was speaking on sidelines of the first Arab economic conference themed "traditional industries .. authenticity, modernity and renewal." The eminent female personality called for supporting creative Arab women at the economic, political and social levels. However, she noted that financial resources are required to attain such objective.
She indicated that Kuwaiti financial and charitable aid to Arab countries and communities have indirectly helped the Arab women, particularly at the economic level.
The Council of Arab Businesswomen is aiding the Arab women in various sectors, particularly in the agricultural field which has proven as the most productive sphere and the best in terms of sufficient infrastructures.
She called for establishing "women economic coalitions" to boost development in the Arab world. (end) kj.rk
