WASHINGTON, April 20 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump stressed Thursday that Iran is "doing a tremendous disservice" to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), signed in Vienna on July 14, 2015.
"It was a terrible agreement. It shouldn't have been signed," Trump said at a press conference with Italian Premier Paolo Gentiloni.
"It shouldn't have been negotiated the way it was negotiated. I'm all for agreements, but that was a bad one, as bad as I've ever seen negotiated," he remarked.
He stressed that Iran is "not living up to the spirit of the agreement, I can tell you that." "We're analyzing it very, very carefully and we'll have something to say about it in the not-too-distant future," Trump noted. He has recently directed a National Security Council-led interagency review of the JCPOA that will evaluate whether suspension of sanctions on Iran under the deal is vital to the national security interests of the United States.
