MANAMA, April 4 (KUNA) -- The Commander-in-Chief for the Bahraini military, Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa praised on Tuesday the success of the military exercise "Eagles Resolve 2017" which is held in Kuwait with the involvement of GCC and American troops.
In a statement by Kuwait's Embassy in Bahrain, Sheikh Khalifa, during his meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Al-Sabah, stressed that Kuwait has the ability to organize and run such an important exercise.
He also stressed on the importance of relations between Kuwait and Bahrain on all levels.
For his part, Sheikh Azzam praised the depth of relations between the two countries.
Eagle Resolve 2017 is part of efforts to promote cooperation and raise the combat readiness of the Gulf Cooperation Council's countries, in order to be able to meet regional challenges.
It also aims to allow participating units to exchange experiences and to standardize procedures in the military field.
The drill started on March 21 with participation of units from the Gulf Peninsula Shield force, in cooperation with the United States of America. It is scheduled to end by April 6. (end) mge.am.ss
