RIYADH, March 15 (KUNA) -- The "Kuwait beside you" campaign launched Wednesday a project offering shelter aid to displaced Yemenis from governorates of Al-Hudaydah and Ta'iz in Al-Buraiqah Directorate, west of Aden.
Aid was delivered to 150 people, out of a total of 1,200 targeted by the campaign, the Yemeni-Kuwaiti Relief Agency said in a statement.
It added that Al-Buraiqah top official Hani Al-Yazidi lauded Kuwait's humanitarian role supporting them necessary household materials.
He referred to the tremendous efforts of the campaign to help the Yemeni people, especially the displaced people Al-Buraiqah.
For his part, executive director of the Al-Buraiqah project Adel Bashen expressed pleasure over today's aid, saying more will be offered to the displaced Yemenis in Al-Mansoura, Sheikh Othman and Dar Saad areas.
The Kuwaiti campaign seeks to help Yemenis by securing food, water, education and housing. The agency comprises a number of Yemeni and Kuwaiti aid societies.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Kuwait's Patients Helping Fund Abu Ismail Ibrahim Al-Qurashi, discussed with deputy governor of the Yemeni governorate of Lahj Awadh Al-Salahi, the fund's support to the province.
Al-Qurashi briefed Al-Salahi in detail on the first phase of the fund's work in Yemen, and the projects to be carried out in the second stage, thefund said in a statement.
Over the coming period, the fund will offer Lahj directorates ambulances, wheelchairs, medical equipment and medications.
For his part, Al-Salahi, who is also secretary general of Lahj council, highly appreciated Kuwait's support to Yemen amid the hard conditions the country is experiencing due to war which caused huge devastation and destroyed the governorate's infrastructure. (end) mdm.msa
