RIYADH, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- GCC Secretary-General Abdul-Latif Al-Zayani Wednesday condemned a suicide attack that targeted a Saudi warship while it was on a patrolling mission west of Al-Hudaydah Yemeni Port.
Al-Zayani deplored the attack as a "serious violation of international navigation in the Red Sea and a threat to Red Sea-overlooking countries' interests".
The GCC chief expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia over all measures it is taking in order to stop the smuggling of firearms to Yemen, while voicing condolence to the families of the victims and to the Saudi government and people.
Two persons were killed and three others injured on Monday when boats driven by Houthi rebels attacked a Saudi vessel, patrolling off Hudaida Port in Yemen, the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen said. (end) yms.mt
