KUWAIT, July 12 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Sports Club for the Deaf announced on Tuesday the lifting of the suspension imposed by the Asia-Pacific Deaf Sports Confederation (APDSC).
Executive at the club, Jaber Al-Kandri told KUNA that he was handed the official decision on lifting the suspension which was imposed in 2008.
The decision came after the club payed off a portion of a fine, said Al-Kandri, adding that around USD 75,000 were left in the fine.
The sanction imposed by APDSC on the club included suspending Kuwait's membership, a ban on participation in any championships organized by the Confederation, in addition to a prohibition from attending any conferences or meetings.
This sanction imposed due Kuwait's failure to host the Asia-Pacific Deaf Games which was scheduled in Kuwait in 2008. (end) fn.ysa.lb
