CAIRO, May 31 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Assembly speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim said Tuesday that an international political pressure on Israel is needed to limit oppressions and mistreatments toward Palestinians.
"We as legislatures will work on following all diplomatic and parliamentary methods to bring back Palestinians' right stolen by Israel," said Al-Ghanim in a press release after he chaired a meeting of the Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament.
He added, "Israel will not ease their oppressions unless an international pressure is made and that's what we aim to achieve as parliamentarians." He asserted the importance of the committee meeting, hailing Arab coordination toward different issues where the Palestinian issue is top priority.
He also said "the meeting ended with total approval and roles distribution, and we will meet again after the holy month of Ramadan to conclude the ideas and procedures that have been raised." Al-Ghanim, who chaired the Palestine committee meeting, said the Committee features participation of speakers of Arab parliaments.
The meeting was attended by members of Palestine Committee, House Speakers of Palestine, Algeria, Morocco, and Jordan, also by Arab representative in the executive committee in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). (end) mfm.mys
