CAIRO, March 24 (KUNA) -- Arab League praised Kuwait for hosting an upcoming round of peace talks, scheduled on 18 April.
Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Bin Hilly expressed his appreciation to hosting these talks to First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah over a phone conversation.
Bin Hilly told the press, on Thursday, that the Arab League always supports Yemeni peace talks that should be taken seriously in accordance to outputs from the GCC initiative, the Yemeni national dialogue, the Riyadh convention and the UN resolution 2216 of the Yemeni dispute.
The Arab League also supports the UN Special envoy for Yemen Ould Cheikh Ahmed's initiative of drawing a roadmap to solve the Yemeni crisis, which included a nation-wide cessation of hostilities and building trust among disputed parties.
He expressed hope to find an end to the conflict that exhausted the Yemeni people for the past two years. He encouraged to alleviate their suffering by providing a life-saving assistance. (end) mfm.nfm
