AMMAN, Feb 21 (KUNA) -- Jordanian King Mohammad II highlighted the need of the international community, particularly the United States, making more efforts to break the stalemate in the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.
During his meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Aqaba city, southwest Jordan, on Sunday evening, King Abdullah II urging advancing the peace process on the basis of the US-conceived two-state solution and the international legitimacy.
The meeting with Kerry, now on a visit to the Kingdom, reviewed the bilateral ties, the fight against terrorism, and the latest developments of the situation in the Middle East, according to a statement by the Jordanian Royal Court.
On Syria, the two sides underscored the need to lobby for the implementation of the outcomes of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) relating to ceasefire in the country.
Kerry has earlier announced that he agreed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to work together for an agreement on cessation of hostilities among the warring parties in Syria as early as possible. (end)
