BAGHDAD, Jan 2 (KUNA) -- Iraqi security forces killed on Saturday seven militants of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in eastern Fallujah, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said.
The forces managed to prevent the militants from attacking security personnel in the city in Anbar Governorate, the command added in a statement distributed today.
As a result, an Iraqi soldier was killed, and two others were wounded and taken to a field hospital for treatment, it noted.
The forces are besieging Fallujah amid expectationS that they will start retaking it after the liberation of Ramadi city. (end) ahh.hm
