IRBIL, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Turkish army forces equipped with heavy weapons arrived at the outskirts of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, and were set to engage in operations to liberate the city from the grip of so-called ISIL.
Three groups of Turkish forces have arrived at the Zalkan camp at the northern outskirts of Mosul, spokesman of the Nineveh liberation forces Mahmoud Sorachi said in a statement.
He said the Turkish forces were getting ready to participate in an international coalition to liberate Mosul, coupled with more than 8,000 volunteers in the Zalkan camp.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL) hass been occupying Mosul since June 10, 2014. (end) sbr.bs
