KUWAIT, Nov 12 (KUNA) -- The National Assembly has won a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) e-government prize for socieal engagement.
The assembly's winning project is one of the best practices in the e-government domain at the State's level, the secretariat said in a press release on Thursday.
The award will be handed to the parliament during the fourth GCC eGovernment Award, Conference and Exhibition 2015 due in Bahrain on November 25 and 26, it said.
The Kuwaiti parliament's project "Contribute to Legislation-Making", is an online service that allows citizens to comment on draft laws via www.kna.kw, it added.
The service was launched a couple of years ago out of the assembly's belief in the significance of social participation involving citizens and members of parliament, it noted.
This yearآ’s fourth edition of the GCC eGovernment Awar will be based on exchange of experience amongst countries in the field of eServices as well as honouring outstanding ventures with the purpose of improving the eGovernment services as well as strengthening the integration between the GCC countries.
The topics and work papers will highlight the most important GCC eGovernment-related matters that are represented in big and smart data, integration of environmental information to support regional decision-making, government shared services, and smart social media.
It will also showcase GCC experiences in the eGovernment field across a range of sectors such as justice, social development and many others.
The آ‘GCC eGovernment Awardآ’ is organized in conjunction with the conference and exhibition where GCC government entities participate by showcasing their best practices in conducting the online transactions which are in line with standards set this year and aligned with the GCC vision.
