JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud renewed, in a phone call with US President Barack Obama on Thursday, his condemnation of the repeated Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and the flagrant violations against the Muslim worshippers there.
During the conversation, initiated by him, King Salman urged President Obama to exert more efforts for adopting urgent measures by the UN Security Council to force Israel into halting the serious violations of the sanctity of the Muslims' third holiest site and protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
He affirmed that the aggressive policy of Israel can only foment religious extremism and violence in the Middle East at the world at large.
Last night King Salman discussed the issue in similar phone calls with UN Secretary-General Bank Ki-moon, British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
