KUWAIT, July 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Society for Human Rights is to participate in "Action/2015"; the biggest global movement to end poverty, inequality and climate change.
Action/2015 is organized by "Project 189"; an informal social organization aiming to protect, promote and improve the rights of domestic workers in the Middle East. It is a coalition of over 1,600 organizations in around 160 countries.
Projects manager at Kuwait Society for Human Rights Sahil Al-Junaid said, late Saturday, that Action/2015 was announced by Pakistani schoolgirl activist Malala Yousafzai when she accepted the Nobel Peace Prize last December 2014.
Kuwai's participation in this campaign stems out of its support to all humanitarian efforts, Al-Junaid added.
He noted that world leaders will convene in New York in September to agree on what needs to be done to end poverty, reduce inequality and tackle environmental destruction.
Another meeting will be held in Paris, in December, where they will come together again to decide on a new climate agreement with the potential to secure a safer planet.
The decisions made at these two gatherings will help shape the fate of the next generation and many more to come, he pointed out.
Throughout 2015, everyone everywhere can get involved in influencing the outcomes of these global debates by posting photos and comments under the campaign's hashtag "#action2015". (end) akw.nfm
