BAGHDAD, June 24 (KUNA) -- Twelve Iraqis were killed and 24 others injured after twin explosions, one using a car and another by a suicide attacker, that targeted tribe Al-Neda meeting in Beldruz town on Tuesday.
Security source from Dejla command operations told KUNA, that the two explosions killed 12 Iraqis, among them tribe's Sheikh Haitham Al-Houm, wounding 24 others, including a number of his brothers, cousins, and members of the Iraqi police.
The source added that the bombing targeted a meeting which was set to discuss the issue of the kidnapping of Sheikh Mutlaq Al-Nadawi, one of the tribe elders who was abducted in mysterious circumstances by unknown armed men.
Beldruz town in Diyala province witnessed a number of suicide bombings and car bombings, despite having a number of its areas liberated from ISIL. (end) mhg.mb
