DOHA, June 14 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Foreign Ministry announced late Saturday the success of its mediation efforts, made at the behest of the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to free four Tajikistani soldiers from captivity in Afghanistan.
The four Tajiks were kidnapped by Taliban group in December on the northern borders of Afghanistan.
The Qatari efforts stemmed from the state's commitment to humanitarian values, the ministry said in a statement.
It added that the State of Qatar is using all its resources and diplomacy to save lives, praising all those who contributed to the successful mediation. (end) nnd.gb
