KUWAIT, June 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has donated USD 200 million for Iraq and USD 100 million to Yemen to improve the humanitarian conditions in the two countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The donation aims to ease the suffering of those in need, amidst the ongoing internal war-fares, said representative of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jassem Al-Mubarki, on Wednesday, during his participation in the Middle East and North Africa consultative meeting on law and disasters.
Meanwhile, he noted the severe conditions in Syria due to the civil war which is about to mark its fifth year, adding that there are over 12 million people in need for urgent humanitarian aid.
Kuwait had held three donors' conferences for Syria, which resulted in international pledges of USD 5.9 billion, with Kuwait contributing USD 900 million, said Al-Mubarki.(end) akw.hb.ag
