PARIS, April 28 (KUNA) -- French President Francois Hollande will attend the forthcoming consultative Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to be held May 4-5 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Hollande's office announced on Tuesday.
A statement from the Elysee Palace said that the French leader will be "the guest of honour" at the GCC event, but gave no further details.
GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani said yesterday a Ministerial Council would be held in Riyadh on Thursday in preparation for a consultative meeting of the GCC leaders on May 5th.
During their meeting, the ministers will discuss a number of key issues that concern the GCC member states and the latest regional developments, mainly the crisis in Yemen.
The GCC consultative summit is held ahead of summit talks between the Arab Gulf leaders and US President Barack Obama in Camp David in May. (end) jk.bs
