KHARTOUM, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's total investments in Sudan, mainly in industry, farming and services, are estimated at over USD 9 billion, a Sudanese official said here on Saturday.
Kuwait primarily invests in sugar and communication projects in Sudan, Secretary-General of the Sudanese Investment Authority Ahmad Shawar said in a news statement.
The joint Kuwaiti-Sudanese higher committee is set to convene on Monday and Tuesday.
Shawar said during the committee meeting his country will seek to promote and develop Sudanese-Kuwaiti economic and investment partnership with a view to creating a strategic partnership in the fields of food security, banks and services.
Also during the meeting, an executive program is to be set for putting a mutual investment promotion agreement in place, he added. (end) hha.mt
