WASHINGTON, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition continued to strike ISIL targets in Syria and Iraq, with a total of 18 airstrikes between early Thursday and Friday.
In Syria, some 10 airstrikes were carried out near Ain Al-Arab (Kobane), where "nine airstrikes struck nine ISIL tactical units, and destroyed two ISIL fighting positions," and Al-Hasakah, where "an airstrike struck multiple storage and staging facilities," said the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve.
Meanwhile in Iraq, US and coalition forces carried out eight airstrikes near five areas, added the CJTF-OIR statement.
Near Baiji "three airstrikes struck an ISIL road, an ISIL weapons cache and destroyed an ISIL bunker," while near Al-Asad, where "two airstrikes struck an ISIL tactical unit and an ISIL staging location." Close to Al-Qaim, "an airstrike, struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL vehicle," while near Fallujah, "an airstrike, struck an ISIL tactical unit," and finally Mahkmur, where an airstrike "struck an ISIL earth mover."
