BAGHDAD, July 30 (KUNA) -- At least 28 Iraqi people were killed and 49 others injured in two car bomb attacks and a big fire in east of Baghdad on Wednesday, a security source said.
The source, from Baghdad Operations Command, told KUNA a booby-trapped vehicle was detonated in a gas station in the Sadr City killing 20 civilians and wounding 33 others.
The explosion also set alight 14 civilian cars that were refueling, he added.
This blast triggered the explosion of the casoline tanks and gas pumps in the station, which triggered a huge fire, he said.
Another car explosion near a restaurant in the southeast of Baghdad killed eight civilians and injured 16 others, as well as causing damage to nearby shops and cars, the source said.
Baghdad has been a scene of violent actions that killed many innocent people and injuring others. (end) mhg.bs
