PARIS, July 21 (KUNA) -- France on Monday condemned an attack in Egypt that killed 21 soldiers two days ago.
The attack took place at a check point near Wadi Al-Jadid in southwest Egypt after heavily-armed gunmen overran a security position.
"We offer our condolences to the families of the victims," the French Foreign Ministry said.
"France stand beside the authorities and people of Egypt in their fight against terrorism," it added.
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius over the weekend met with President Abdelfattah Al-Sissi and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri and delivered this very message to them personally, according to Foreign Ministry officials. (end) jk.hs
