KUWAIT, June 19 (KUNA) -- Sada Educational Center for hearing and speech helps children with Cochlear Implants to develop their listening, learning and spoken language skills to succeed at their early ages in school and in life, Manager of the center Wasan Al-Bader said on Thursday.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Bader pointed out that the center follows the principles of the American Clarke Schools for hearing and speech through programs that enable children use cochlear implants and hearing aids to maximize their access to sound and to teach them to listen and speak, rather than use sign language.
Sada Educational center not only provides children with programs that help them their cognitive development but also offers awareness programs to teachers and parents on how to deal with hearing-impaired children and to teach them how to develop their social skills, she added. The center, established in 2011, is supported by Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation. It is non-profitable and offers free admission to children at the ages of one to two. (end) asa.nfm
