BEIJING, June 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti leading telecommunications company ZAIN on Wednesday reported signing an MoU with leading international telecommunications solutions provider Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. as part of its ongoing effort to keep up with advances in the field and to bolster its international position through strategic partnerships.
A company representative told KUNA the deal was sealed during the state visit by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to China to pursue greater cooperation, exchange, and interaction between the two nations on many fronts.
The deal was initialled by Zain Group Chairman Asaad Al-Banwan and Huawei's Vice President for the Middle East Region He Tao. This came after a meeting where the two sides discussed main corporate practices and strategic partnership between the two firms, with the aim of developing the Kuwaiti telecommunications and information technology sector.
The MoU addresses future cooperation and expanding and improving the Zain network and its products to keep up with the latest in this field, the representative said.
