GAZA, May 31 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian President on Saturday warned Israel against any retaliatory action for forecast formation of a Palestinian national unity government.
"The Israelis have notified us that they intend to boycott us immediately once we have formed the national unity cabinet on Monday," said Abbas during a reception of a French delegation, supportive of the Palestinian cause, at his headquarters in the West Bank town of Ramallah.
"We say for each such an Israeli step, there will be an adequate Palestinian response," President Abbas warned Tel Aviv. "Israel wants to punish us for reaching an agreement with Hamas for achieving conciliation which we have always sought, forming a conciliation government that will group technocrats who are not linked to Fatah or Hamas or other factions," he added.
Abbas noted that the new government would adopt his manifesto and policies; recognizing Israel, renouncing terrorism and recognizing international legitimacy. (end) nq.rk
