CANNES, May 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti short film "Dream", directed by Faisal Al-Duwaisan, was shown here on Friday at the 2014 Cannes International Film Festival, on the sidelines of the short film corner competition.
Director Al-Duwaisan stated to KUNA that this was his first experience in competing at such a major international cinematic event, adding that it gave him the opportunity to connect with several international cinema veterans and over 100 young directors from all around the world representing the new international cinema.
On his film, he noted that "Dream" was accomplished through his participation in a program that was produced by Al-Daha Institution Pictures, which also provided him with the chance of producing the film and be present at Cannes festival in an initiative to encourage and inspire Gulf cinema filmmakers.
