LONDON, July 29 (KUNA) -- Britain condemned the brutal attacks in Iraq on Monday that killed and injured many innocent people, urging the Iraqi leaders to put their differences aside.
"I utterly condemn the brutal attacks that took place across Iraq this morning which killed and injured many innocent people," Foreign Office Minister Hugo Swire said in a statement.
He said these were criminal acts against the interests of all Iraqis, and that they were more shocking because they occur during Muslims' fasting month of Ramadhan "a time of peace and reflection." Swire urged the Iraqi government to take all necessary steps to bring those responsible to justice.
More than 100 people were killed or injured in a series of blast in Iraq earlier today.
Swire also called upon "all political and religious leaders in Iraq to put aside their differences and work together to stop terrorism." he offered his deepest condolences to the families that have lost loved ones and to those injured in the attacks. (end) mrn.bs KUNA 292239 Jul 13NNNN
