KUWAIT, July 20 (KUNA) -- The Public Authority for Housing Welfare announced on Saturday that 23 consortiums have applied to provide economic, technical and legal consultations and form a general shareholding company to run Al-Khiran City project.
Head of the consultative services follow-up committee for Al-Khiran, and low budget residence projects in the authority Anwar Al-Hulailah told KUNA that the committee has completed the evaluation of the consortiums which applied for the project according to resolution number 27/2012.
Al-Hulailah said the committee has the right to participate in assessing the financial and technical parts of the project, adding that it had handed the final report regarding consortiums to the planning committee of the authority, to approve of the procedures followed for the consortiums.
The consultative services committee has studied the previous projects of those who applied to determine their qualifications and level of expertise needed for Al-Khiran project, he explained. The committee also looked into the previous experiences of the economic consultants in making economic feasibility studies and financial studies for similar projects, he added.
Al-Hulailah noted that the level of expertise of the consultative engineering companies regarding the infrastructure was studied, including evaluating legal consultations for partnership projects.
Resolution number 27/2012 was issued on December 26, regarding enabling the private sector to participate in finding solutions to the housing problem in the country, also giving the authority the opportunity to form joint-stock companies in cooperation with the private sector, to build new residential cities such as Al-Khiran, Al-Sabiya, and Al-Mutla.(end) fnk.tb.ag KUNA 201757 Jul 13NNNN
